Fibernetics Acquires Nucleus Information Service Inc.

Ontario Based CLEC To Offer Business And Residential Services To Western Canada

Fibernetics is proud to announce today that they have acquired Nucleus Information Service Inc. Headquartered in Calgary (with offices in Edmonton) Nucleus services Western Canada, delivering a wide selection of telecommunications services including business VoIP, business Internet, business continuity services, co-location facilities, residential Internet and other web-based services.

The acquisition of Calgary’s first Internet Service Provider enables Fibernetics to expand to Western Canada without having to sacrifice their commitment to exemplary customer service, and provides Nucleus access to Fibernetics suite of products and services, principally NEWT Business Services and Worldline Residential Internet and Home phone.

Fibernetics President John Stix said, “Having the privilege of acquiring Calgary’s first ISP is the exact shot in the arm strategically that Fibernetics have been looking for. We are growing through acquisition as part of our development strategy to expand our full suite of services into Western Canada and we are looking at other opportunities as well.”

“Nucleus is the ideal fit for that strategy. They are an award winning ISP whose culture meshes perfectly with ours. Fibernetics goes “Beyond Telecom” by being the most customer-focused telecom company in Canada. Our ‘customer first’ philosophy is matched by theirs and we plan to leverage that customer service passion along with their experience and talents to help build significant market share in Western Canada.”

“We are excited to provide the exceptional level of services we currently provide our customers in Ontario and Quebec to nearly 2 million additional households and thousands of businesses in Western Canada,” said Francisco Dominguez, Fibernetics CTO.

“Through the acquisition of Nucleus we will be providing Internet access for western Canadians putting us squarely in the position of being responsible for all aspects of customers’ online and phone experience, and this is where we excel. Being able to expand to Western Canada and provide service better than anyone else is what separates us from other providers,” he concluded.

Nucleus is extremely excited to be a part of the Fibernetics family and is proud to have been selected as the hub for their western Canadian expansion.

“This is a great fit for both organizations,” said Cheryl McDonald, Nucleus Information Service COO. “Fibernetics’ focus on customer happiness is completely in line with the ideas and philosophies that have made Nucleus successful to date. Our dedication to delivering the highest level of customer service while still providing high quality, reliable telecom services to our clients can only be strengthened by this union.”
